Requirements to Successfully Graduate
In order to graduate with success, students must fulfill the following criteria: Attend all training sessions: The 200-hour course demands commitment and requires completion of all training hours. Check the schedule to ensure that you can attend all classes. Making up classes is difficult and comes with an additional $50 per hour fee. Make-up sessions may need to be done online at the discretion of the YTT instructors, and not all classes can be done outside of the classroom. Alternative options may include make-up at the studio. 22 hours of the program will need to be completed outside of required hours. You will need to attend the 22 classes at BodyLift Fitness during the YTT training months. Your unlimited pass will allow you sign up for the 22 classes as they fit into your personal schedule. Complete readings, online assignments, and homework assignments on time for each training session. Plan for an additional 4-6 hours of outside classroom time per week. This can include sequencing prep, online work, homework, reading and videos. The goal of each weekend will be for you to teach and plan classes for other students, as you progress, in the yoga teacher training program.
Clarifying the Details of Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course
Are you wondering if our 200 hour course is recognized by Yoga Alliance? Yes, we are a 200 hour Registered Yoga School (RYS). You will be completing your hours under the Shri Yoga program & curriculum at BodyLift Fitness.
You may also be curious about the format of the course. We believe that in-person training is the most effective way to learn the necessary skills for teaching a 60 minute yoga class. The course is structured to include postures, breath work, meditation, bandhas, subtle energies, and micro sequences.
Being present in an in-person class allows you to observe and interact with fellow students and teachers, and ask questions directly. This gives you a better understanding of how people move, and a more comprehensive learning experience.
Completing Yoga Teacher Training: Attendance and Make-up Policy
In order to receive certification from the Yoga Alliance, attendance at all classes is mandatory. We understand that unexpected conflicts may arise, but we encourage participants to prioritize their training and plan ahead. Please review your schedule and make sure you are available for every weekend of the program. In the event that you miss a class, make-up sessions are available but come at an additional cost of $50 per hour. Please note that not all classes can be done remotely and the teacher will make the final decision on whether to offer an online option. Additionally, if you need to make up a class at a location other than the one you originally registered for, any additional fees for travel and lodging will be your responsibility.
Can I take the train if I don't plan to teach or can't do all the poses?
As an aspiring yogi, you may struggle with certain yoga poses and may not be interested in teaching. However, if you want to improve your practice, YTT will deepen your skills and personal practice. You don't need to be able to perform every pose to enroll in a teacher training program or to teach students. During the training we will expand your base knowledge for better cueing and instructing. You learn to sequence a class for a variety levels. So, don't hesitate to enroll – this is an educational program that will change your life!
